Norsk Fulbright stipendiat deler ut The Metro International Fulbright Award for Global Public Service i New York
Karoline Vinsrygg, norsk Fulbright stipendiat til Georgetown University i 2004-05, delte 4.juni 2007 ut The Metro International Fulbright Award for Global Public Service i New York til Christopher B. Burnham.
Mandag 4. juni 2007 ble den årlige Metro International's Fulbright Dinner Awards arrangert på Waldorf-Astoria i New York. Metro International er en non-profit organisasjon som har som mål å skape globale læringsarenaer for studenter, forskere og lokalsamfunnet i og rundt New York City. Den årlige prisutdelingen finner sted for å hedre de som, i Senator Fulbright sin ånd, har fremmet fred og internasjonal forståelse gjennom sitt liv og arbeid. Harriet Mayor Fulbright er Honorary Chair for dette evenementet.

"Metro International utilizes the Fulbright Awards Dinner to raise awareness of the Fulbright program and its role in furthering peaceful relationships between peoples and cultures. Inaugurated in 1991, the Fulbright Awards Dinner takes place annually. Awards are presented by visiting Fulbright grantees currently affiliated with New York area academic institutions, before an audience of 500 international leaders in business, higher education, the arts, and government".

I år gikk The Metro International Fulbright Award for Global Public Service til Christopher B. Burnham. Den norske Fulbright stipendiaten Karoline Vinsrygg ble gitt det ærefulle oppdraget å dele ut prisen. Karoline holdt en flott tale på vegne av Fulbright og Metro International.

"Christopher Burnham joined Deutsche Bank as Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Deutsche Asset Management in November 2006. He was previously Under-Secretary-General of Management for the United Nations and the highest-ranking American in the UN Secretariat, reporting to Kofi Annan. Prior to joining the UN, he spent four years with the U.S. Department of State, where he served as Under Secretary of State for Management, Assistant Secretary of State for Resource Management, and CFO of the State Department for Former Secretary of State General Colin Powell. Mr. Burnham began his career in government by serving as Treasurer of the State of Connecticut. He earned an MPA from Harvard University and a BA from Washington and Lee University.
Previous honorees include: Senator J. William Fulbright, E. Gerald Corrigan, Daisy and Paul Soros, Eve Burton, the late Rodman C. Rockefeller, Victor J. Menezes, Marjory E. Searing, Josh Weston, Milton Glaser, Mariam Assefa, Alberto Vitale, and Harriet Mayor Fulbright".
