My name is Isaac Willis Larison. My home is in Louisville, Kentucky (home of the Kentucky Derby). I was an elementary school teacher for 14 years prior to my career at the university level. I have taught children in all grade levels (mostly ages 8 – 15) and have conducted after school programs in drama and fine arts for children in ages 5 - 19. My studies in liberal arts helped me develop a broad range of interests and knowledge in the sciences and social sciences. I have had numerous international study experiences. I enjoy reading, taking long walks, riding my bicycle, and making new friends. I like to cook, sing (although I am not a very good singer), play cards, and I am willing to try just about anything as long as it is not too dangerous or illegal. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, Japan, Israel, Mexico, and the USA. I have had the great pleasure of visiting Norway a number of times and look forward to living in Oslo and traveling around the country for the year. Currently, I am a program director for the Kentucky Institute for International Studies.
I have designed my programs for students around broad themes and used the same titles for the teacher workshops. This will allow me to coordinate the learning experience for students with the pedagogical methodology provided to teachers. The workshops will be adapted to address the needs of each particular audience.
