Intercountry Lecturing ProgramApproximately 250 American lecturers and researchers representing a variety of academic fields participate in the Fulbright Scholar Program in Europe and throughout the world. Thus, a specialist fitting your department's teaching may be close by. Norwegian institutions can invite a US Fulbright Scholar from another European Country through the Intercountry Lecturing Program.
Purpose:For the Fulbright Scholar: The Fulbright Intercountry Lecturing Program provides US scholars while in Europe with opportunities to enrich their professional and cultural experience outside their country of assignment. For European educational institutions: It gives educational institutions the opportunity to invite a Fulbright Scholar based in another country to their institution.
Participating Countries:18 binational European Fulbright commissions participate in the program: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the UK . Please note that grant openings may vary from country to country. The Finnish Fulbright Center maintains an updated list of the current US Fulbrighters in these countries, which can be accessed here.

Procedures:Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the following applies to Norwegian institutions that are interested in inviting Fulbright grantees based in other European countries. Institutions in participating countries outside of Norway should contact their own national Fulbright commission to find out how to apply for an Intercountry Lecturer.
